Mariana Hager

Mariana Hager

Mariana is the youngest of five girls and was young, spunky, and full of fun when she did her plaque. I was her sisters’ art teacher and I had just started to get to know Mariana when I left my art teaching job of 10 years for a new full-time school. I remember Mariana’s determination and happiness to create her plaque. During the classes and bronze pour, Mariana had the help of her sisters Macey, Makaylie, and her Mom and Dad on occasion. While she was always cared for like a precious sacred being from her dear and amazing family she let them know what she needed and worked independently. You will see it in the photos!

Mariana’s bronze plaque has a person/doll in a dress in the middle and encircling the edges is a jewelry chain with charms of various places she would like to go or she has gone…like Mickey Mouse ears- Disneyland. I would like to say that the necklace was a fun challenge to gold leaf!

Mariana is going to be a junior at Bethlehem Academy in Faribault ( 2023). She texted me, “ I am out for volleyball, basketball, golf, and dance right now and love all of them. I don’t know what I want to do when I grow up yet. I am hoping to be able to come to the ceremony in New Prague.” I still hear that very happy and full-of-life young lady and I hope she makes it to the event as well!
